The Israelites aren’t satisfied with having a judge. They want an earthly king like the rest of the nations.

Samuel warns them about the power that an earthly king will have over their lives and says if they knowingly make this choice, then when they regret it, God will make them live with the consequences.

Yet they still choose an earthly king.

Why do we look to what others have instead of realizing what we have in God?

He is the One we should serve, obey, fear, and worship. No man is worthy of that.

Live thru Jesus
Saul
From the time God sent Moses to deliver the Israelites from Egypt, the Lord had appointed them leaders. Just before Moses died, God told him to anoint Joshua to succeed him. Then, after Joshua, God began raising up judges. But they wanted a king like every other nation. So, they asked Samuel to appoint one for them and Saul was the man God directed him to.
