Introduction to Ruth
Marriage, Family, Adoption, Loyalty, Commitment, Provider, Redemption, Legacy
During the time of the judges, there was a famine in the land and Elimelech took his wife Naomi and his two sons to live in Moab until the drought passed. But he died before that happened and his sons married Moabite women. After living in Moab for ten years, the sons died too. So, Naomi went back to Bethlehem. She persuaded Orpah to go back to her family and her gods, but Ruth adopted Naomi as her family and committed herself to God instead. This is their story and what we can learn from it.
